In winter, Magdeburg is transformed into a unique world of lights. Millions of lights conjure up a glittering wonderland on houses, lanterns, fountains and the squares of the city centre. With the start of the Christmas market season, more than 60 life-size, sparkling sculptures stand in the 1,200-year-old city.
